a comment that got me thinking

the other day in a post about bts coming from nothing i read this comment from a korean netizen.

"Compared to all of the support larger agencies get, BTS did work themselves up out of nothing. Their company wasn't rich enough to get them a concert straight out of debut and they didn't have any successful seniors to promote them. BTS is holding this company up all on their own. They've been working at it for three years and their efforts are finally starting to shine."

this is the part that caught my attention.

"Their company wasn't rich enough to get them a concert straight out of debut"

i did a little research and found bts performed their debut song on music programs. As somebody more interested in the japanese music industry than the korean industry, this really surprised me. every group i like on that side from the ones filling stadiums to the ones so nugu they are unsigned started off with concerts. That's how nugu groups survive and grow. At their inception one of my favorite groups (momiro clover z) didn't have the means to play in a club, so they played in a park for whoever wanted to stop and listen. The idea of getting on tv would have been laughed at.
to stop rambling, i'll just stop with this differencereally fascinated me, and it made me wonder what type of results has each system led to
