Ok, so as a fan of some girl groups, I notice that many fans of both boy and girl groups fail to give their faves the criticism they deserve. I think that's why many fans come off as bandwagons to me. And it really annoys me. Because groups are meant to improve in all aspects, not just album quality, or stage presence, or music videos...they're meant to improve as a whole in all aspects. Fans add to that, because they don't speak up enough or put their faves on a pedestal. So I wanna know what all of you think your faves could improve on or what you want them to improve on. What do you think their strong points are? Their weak points?
Girls' Generation.
It's hard to talk about Girls' Generation because they were once nine and now they're eight, and that makes them be seen as two separate eras. Girls' Generation were mainly good up until 2014, before that a lot of their performances were good and gave off their own vibe. But, I don't think they sang live enough, and they weren't improving vocally at a performer's standard. If you want a group to have more stage presence, just make them sing live, because it shows that they're putting effort and they're more enthusiastic. As of Girls' Generation now, I haven't seen much of their performances, but I know they half-ass sometimes, and they still hardly sing live. They need to be more passionate and sing live as you'll see the improvement in their performance. I'd also like to see members writing music again, but that's up to SM.
f(x).
99% of Kpop fans and f(x) fans don't criticise f(x) at all. They all seem like bandwagons and that makes me feel so bad for f(x), as they deserve all the honesty they can get. Their albums are good, always improving in quality. Their stage presence, however, is bad. Really bad. Most of their performances are really boring, but obviously, there are some that aren't. Like Girls' Generation, it's hard to know when the last time they sang live, which means there will be less stage presence. Luna and Amber are the only promising members of f(x), as Amber is an artist and Luna is talented with vocals and dance and she's the only member who looks like she tries on stage and is passionate about performing. So far, f(x)'s albums have been improving and growing, but f(x) have been stuck at the same point for years. Make them realise their potential, SM and everyone else.
Wonder Girls.
I'm generally pleased with Wonder Girls. All the current members have contributed to their music which is what I want to see, and haven't seen in my other favourite groups (for example, f(x) excluding Amber, Kara, etc). Their recent album was very good quality and I think it has to do with the fact that the members actually contributed, as mentioned before. Girl groups should follow in their footsteps. But I'd like to see better performances, I want them to try and captivate the crowd more, it looks like they're just performing for the cameras and not the audience.
