Why 21 you ask? because this 2016, i wanna do things twice and then go the extra mile by adding one more hehehehe XD (if you got the reference then my friend *slow clap*) And in the mean time, please play this song while reading into my Top 21 Image may be NSFW.

#21 Jang Hyunseung (장현승) - '니가 처음이야 (Ma First)' (Feat. 기리보이) - One of two solo efforts that hooked me in this year, i didn't really listen to this song during it's release week, i listened to it months after it's release, one i can definitely dance to when i'm in a dance club somewhere in Gangnam if i were to visit Seoul one day (actually i don't even know if there are dance clubs in Gangnam Gu but a 23 year old can hope right?) Image may be NSFW.

#20 HYUNA(현아) - '잘나가서 그래 (Feat. 정일훈 Of BTOB)' (Roll Deep) - This combines the whackiness of Miley Cyrus without the boob exposure and riding in a phallic shaped whatever but with more of the skinny girl twerking that she was known for back in 2013 but with more of Hyuna's flavor in this, she's veering towards her more edgy side this time, last year it was about red monkey butts because you know . . . RAP!, this year it's about her being the best at what she does and we couldn't ask for more, ilhoon is also showing more skin ( wait isn't that part of skinship already ilhoon? i thought you hated that ), if you were hoping to see more of ilhoon's masculinity, this (and the other version of this video) is the video to see more of it and not in that way you perverts Image may be NSFW.

#19 GIRLS' GENERATION_Catch Me If You Can_Music Video (Korean ver.) - this is the transition song of SNSD after the forceful departure of Jessica Jung from the group, there was another version of this song with Jecca on it but in my subjective opinion, i liked the version where she isn't there anymore ( send your angry letters to redacted because it's subjective boys and girls ) there isn't any point to it at all, it's just a couple of locations where they dance to practiced choreography like every other k-pop video out there (which Beyonce popularized by the way) and yet the song reminded me of PSY's Gangnam Style in some way but without the wackiness and more the dancing Image may be NSFW.

#18 EXID(이엑스아이디) - HOT PINK 핫핑크 - we have a saying in the UnderTale fandom and i'm gonna apply it here "Five girls running a pink oil gas station in the middle of nowhere, they fill you with determination but if you call the police on them then you're gonna have a bad time" and that's basically the gist of the video, simplistic really but it works, like i always say, simplicity is winner for me, the song reminds me of 80's songs where you basically make the most disco of songs after the popularity of Saturday Night Fever hit the roof back in 1977, and with the video being what it is, the entire feel of it is like one of those grind house films that they showed back in the 1970's only fully clothed at most parts and without the grainy picture Image may be NSFW.

#17 BIGBANG - LOSER - When news of BIGBANG coming back broke out across the k-popverse, i was excited, but in true Big Bang fashion, they started with a power ballad in what was suppose to be the start of their album promotions and single releases (which got delayed by the way because they need to recharge after four months of endless music show and world tour promotions, again if your gonna make the biggest k-pop boy band in South Korea promote so much within a span of a year give them enough constitution to do so YG, don't ever do this again, oh wait! Their doing it with ikon right now, sannuva . . . anyways) i gotta say though if i were to critic the song with all seven releases that they had this year (and no i'm not including Zutter with those releases), this would pretty much be number three for me, but overall it was a nice start for a boy band who constantly evolved as artist every year they were and weren't around Image may be NSFW.

#16 BIGBANG - 뱅뱅뱅 (BANG BANG BANG) - One of the better songs from the k-pop boy band Legends, it mixes what we love about Fantastic Baby with all the other elements of the insanity that "Mad Max: Fury Road" had, without the sand or glitter spray but with more the cars, strobe lights, shirtless men (Wait! Fury Road had that in abundance, even the shirtless men with face paint on them) and the hook that always gave the Vip's a reason to comeback to this now classic Big Bang song (But honestly though, maybe if i was younger and more reckless than i was two years ago, i would have picked this song no questions asked, i would just say "BEST SONG FOR ME" end of article ) Image may be NSFW.

#15 MONSTA X(몬스타엑스) _ Trespass(무단침입) - i was looking forward to their debut in all actuality, i started viewing their reality elimination show "No Mercy" ever since it's debut, i even hyped myself for the show, i had my favorites to be honest (mostly the visual line because you know, i'm vane like that, and shownu, with his experience as a freelance dancer, who can deny that he's already good solo, i'm sorry if that sounded like an innuendo but it's the truth) and with all that over, i waited in anticipation for their debut because i heard one of their first original songs already (and i'll reveal that song at a higher position of this countdown) and it was good, this direction that Starship was taking for the group however was unexpected on my part but predictable to others, they knew they wanted to take the BTS route of debut for the boys and i actually liked that they did, it was one of the better debuts in my opinion Image may be NSFW.

#14 EXO_LOVE ME RIGHT - if i didn't have a kick and appetite for modern fusion of 90's music and present day beats this wouldn't be higher on my list, this is one of those songs that you could envision MJ being able to pull of on his own if ever he was alive and was making a comeback with a new album last year, but it ended up in EXO's repackaged album instead, which made the record better to be honest, the video was Artsy as well, i'm convinced that there are threads on other blogs about the interpretation of the MV and how much it symbolizes this and that and then this thing and that thing, as for me, the dancing on this one was incomparable, as per every video they had where they simply do all that for the next three minutes however, this one had less of that which was refreshing to come from them to say the least Image may be NSFW.

#13 SHINee 샤이니_View - another one of those songs that MJ would have taken for his comeback 2015 album (Mein! What is it with SM Ent and their hard on for MJ-like songs this year) 90's kids might be reminded of how old they are right now if they listen to this song, let alone view the video (hehehe :P see what i did there XD) but what makes this stand out in comparison to the other songs they had before is the style of how the video was shot, it kinda employs the principal photography mix of music video director Melina Matsuokas and Anthony Mandler, a love child if you will of both director's body of work Image may be NSFW.

#12 MONSTA X 몬스타엑스_신속히 (Rush) - one of four songs that i liked this year that had the horn section cross dance theme into it, but in comparison to the other song that they had for this mini - album release or even the other songs that had the same theme, this was one of the weaker ones to be honest and objective about it, but i don't care, Monsta X is my jam and i ended up picking the right choice as my favorite rookie group this year because their surprises are consistent with each release, this was one of them, i say so because of this song's music video, i knew that they would ham up the goofiness of the group after they received so much love from Deokspatch and it's sequel Deokspatch X , but i didn't know they would incorporate it with their next video and that made it cool for me, i guess Image may be NSFW.

#11 EXO_CALL ME BABY - i said it when they released this song back in March, this songs sounds like one of those songs that Justin Timberlake and Timbaland created for the 20/20 experience but with the EXO flavor that the EXO-L's loved from them (case in point, the see through shirts that Xiumin and Kai wore during the video, seriously! i was looking more at them than the rest of the members hoping that they would have somewhat of a nip slip that will never happen because this is a heavily edited music video . . . but nonetheless) this is what it looks like if they mix the Growl concept with Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" but with more the jackets and khakis instead of the suit and ties, one of the better songs that had the horn cross dance theme Image may be NSFW.

#10 SEVENTEEN(세븐틴) - 만세(MANSAE) - this took me by surprise actually, i can't fathom how much this song reminds me of MJ's music during his Dangerous era releases - the same feeling i had with BtoB with their song "WOW", it has that hook but at the same time the fusion modernity of what made "Uptown Funk" great in the first place, if the 90's are to comeback for one more go at it in k-pop then this should be one of those better songs that started the craze, i was also so surprised at how much the camera loved the boys to the point i might be falling in love with each one of them, even if there are thirteen members overall, but i can't be bothered to memorize each of their names, (not yet anyways) it's like me when "The Hobbit" came out, when i knew there are thirteen dwarfs i only focused on Thorin because he is the badass, it's like that with Seventeen but replace Thorin with Vernon because he looks like Leo DiCaprio plus he competed in show me the money ( look guys and girls, that will always be the truth of it, any casual will just not care to remember, stone me if you like) but overall this was a good year for this group and a good song for them in my opinion Image may be NSFW.

#9 주헌, 형원, IM _ 인터스텔라(Interstellar) (Feat. Yella Diamond) - the reason why i became a Monbebe in the first place (and suffer through the teasing from my friends that the name Monsta X is a porn title) i heard this song and i got immediately hooked, it was the combination of i.m.'s rap references, the hook that the chorus have and the unexpected melodic innocence of the third verse that made this my unexpected jam of 2015, this song became the first song i heard from the k-popverse that made me enthusiastic about what's coming up next from the k-pop industry, this also became the song that had me convinced that this boy band will compete against the monster rookie group ikon that we all knew would debut in 2015 (but guys what's the point of the chrome wearing girls in the background? was that suppose to a reference to the film interstellar? because i don't really see it) Image may be NSFW.

#8 J.Y. Park(박진영) "Who's your mama?(어머님이 누구니) (feat. Jessi)" - one of the most douche bag songs of the k-pop verse equal to that of Gentlemen by PSY, what's great about this song is that this is one of the most unique horn crossed dance themed song out there, not the best for me in my opinion, but you gotta admit how much of a hook the entire song is, plus the inclusion of Unpretty Rapstar champion Jessi and her unique rap flow is actually the best part of the song, the song is basically JYP's role play as one of the Fraternity members of some random University that goes to the gym because there are women who go there that has curves ( at least that's what i think he was trying to do and besides, the women in the video didn't do justice to what the song was trying to celebrate ) but JYP you're kinda getting too old for this Sugar Daddy shtick your trying to pull off, it's funny because it's what i didn't expect from you but remember that you can only do a trick twice before it get's old Image may be NSFW.

#7 BTS(방탄소년단) _ DOPE(쩔어) - the best horn crossed dance themed songs of the year in my opinion and the first ever song i liked from BTS out of the dozen songs they had previously, this is basically their signature song just like what Growl is to EXO, Sorry Sorry is to Super Junior, Fantastic Baby is to Big Bang and Gee is to SNSD, this is the Army's National anthem whenever they wake up in the morning to try and find recruits for their ever so growing fan base, this is also the best form that i saw BTS with when it comes to dancing, their choreographer made them look so good with this one and you can definitely determine how iconic the song will become when years go by and they talk about BTS and their achievements, and their also gonna talk about every other weird thing that V does during his spare time and even in the bathroom (he uses a toilet seat as a neck accessory, you don't hear or see that everyday) Image may be NSFW.

#6 몬스타엑스(MONSTAX)_HERO - this song is actually, to be objectively honest with you, somewhat a musical cousin of BTS' "Dope", they had a legal reason to not make this song the title promotion track during the release of the group's second mini album, many will mistake the group for wanting to become a BTS wannabe (and as a Monbebe i would be hurt if i hear that from anybody) but what other's see as a possible rip-off of another song, to me i see the song as a potential for the group to become great and would possibly become one of the musical trend setters of 2016 and beyond, and that is the chip tune sound effects and melodies that they incorporate for the song, i am seeing pop songs going towards a more chip tunes like direction, what can possibly be a case of identity crisis for the group, could turn out to be a brilliant start to a group that, when used and promoted properly, will become the most distinct and iconic k-pop boy band of all time (look Starship, what i'm saying is hire me as one of your music and video concept artist, i'll make the group look good, promise!) Image may be NSFW.

#5 iKON - 덤앤더머(DUMB&DUMBER) - the music video is just so random and yet i love it, they just hammed up the goofiness for the group but with more of their flavor of randomness into it, the amazing thing about the whole thing is that the group ain't so afraid of breaking their image up for the video's randomness considering how much they all look good in their own unique way (by the way, the video just made me want to desire a reality show from them, the ikon tv that i've been wanting from them for so long, can we get ikon, seventeen and monsta x as part of the new mtv diary please, is it too late for me to ask? ) this is one of those melodys that i could possibly mistake as one of the songs that PSY made back when he was creating Daddy during his supposed comeback in 2014, it's so club like that i'm surprised that it hasn't really caught on with the dance charts, one more thing though, did b.i. just reference BtoB in one of his verses, if he did then that's one of those pluses for me, if not then, a man can dream right?Image may be NSFW.

#4 PSY - DADDY(feat. CL of 2NE1) - speaking of randomness, the King of randomness is back with his fourth attempt to ham up the ridiculousness to eleven for the YouTube world, what was dubbed as one of Time's top ten worst songs of this year is to me a wonderful LMFAO video and song that i can actually dance that will make things awkward for the other party involved (we gotta have one of those songs once in a while, like the macarena but more awkward and difficult to dance to) after signing with YG back in 2010, he was never pressured to change the style that he had even before his signing which was basically the satirical version of what k-pop is at that time and until now he is the epitome of what people consider the anti male pop star of the world, this video doesn't change that, if any this video just proved my point, he won't change it for anybody no matter how high the stakes are Image may be NSFW.

#3 BIGBANG - IF YOU - like i always say, simplicity is winner for me, but this song is one of those exceptions, the complexity of the musical layers of this song topped with what seems to be a take on Bruno Mars' even Adele's brand of break up songs ended up as my Song of the Year objectively, the decision to not make a video about this song was the right choice, just like how "Set Fire to the Rain" never had a video when it was officially announced as Adele's next release, they just want the song to speak for itself because even without a visual accompaniment, you can feel the melancholy of the song and how the hook of the chorus is reflecting the pleading melody that the rest of the song has Image may be NSFW.

#2 iKON - 취향저격(MY TYPE) - i'm a sucker for a "Second Confession" like song, like i said in a previous post back in 2014 that i loved the song for " how refreshing the song is to listen to . . . the love of the vocals and the grit of the rapper you can easily feel ", i was yearning for a song like that for a long time and i really didn't get that from BtoB due to their consistent identity crisis as a group in 2013 - 2014 because of how Cube wanted to ride the formula of what made the other groups successful, and i never got it from them ever again (But instead i got something better from BtoB) and here comes iKON with their debut and i was like "this group is gonna do a purely hip-hop debut like Monsta X did" but to my surprise their first single was the song that i was yearning to have from BtoB, respect to b.i. for creating the song that i've been yearning for a long time (i swear b.i. if you are stalking my post then please admit that your a melody member as well :D . . . anyways) but does that mean we are never gonna get another one of this songs for another two years again? hope not, cause i really like this one, it would have been my top song of the year on this list, because of how much it kinda resembled "Second Confession" musically, but due to the top song, it wasn't, maybe next year iKON, maybe next year Image may be NSFW.

#1 BTOB(비투비) - 괜찮아요 (It's Okay) - i remember when i saw the video and heard the song for the first time, what came out of me was tears, maybe it was the current position i was in, after going through depression for half a year and then coming back from that gloomy state i was in, to the world that didn't stop revolving for anyone, not even for me, having the fear to face my mistakes everyday when i wake up, the loneliness i felt during those six months, resorting to drawing and taping imaginary countries that i wish would have existed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where i can escape to and start fresh and writing a past that i wanna change if ever Santa Clause will give me a Time Machine to go back in time and warn my younger self about my present predicament, all that culminated into what became the lowest point of my life, it would have been lower if it wasn't for my parents being there for me, making sure that i was fed and had a goodnight sleep, during that stage of my life and when i had the strength to move forward, i changed, i was never my same old naive self, i learned so much during those months that i had depression and coming back to the land of the living was hard at first, but this song helped me regain my senses again, i felt that this song was a message that God gave me, him saying "Son you've been through a rough emotional ride already, everything from now on will be okay" and that's why this is, to me, my top song/video of 2015, because of how much the song and video reflected me as a person, how much it captured me as a person during that point in my life, it wasn't the song that i wanted from BtoB, but the song that i needed from them to lift my soul up from my own self doubts, some might say that this song is so bland, that it's so mediocre, but this song reminds me of why i wanted to become a songwriter in the first place, to give others the Cathartic medium they need that will enable them to move on with their lives Image may be NSFW.

And that concludes my top twenty one for this year boys and girls, to be fair though, i wanted to put this in video form so that you could be able to skip some parts of this very long top list, if i had the money to do so i would have, given the chance of course, i'm actually auditioning for allkpop to hire me as one of their freelance writers, but my writing is a bit sloppy, that's why hopefully you guys like it for what a sloppy mess it is, crossing my fingers

#6 몬스타엑스(MONSTAX)_HERO - this song is actually, to be objectively honest with you, somewhat a musical cousin of BTS' "Dope", they had a legal reason to not make this song the title promotion track during the release of the group's second mini album, many will mistake the group for wanting to become a BTS wannabe (and as a Monbebe i would be hurt if i hear that from anybody) but what other's see as a possible rip-off of another song, to me i see the song as a potential for the group to become great and would possibly become one of the musical trend setters of 2016 and beyond, and that is the chip tune sound effects and melodies that they incorporate for the song, i am seeing pop songs going towards a more chip tunes like direction, what can possibly be a case of identity crisis for the group, could turn out to be a brilliant start to a group that, when used and promoted properly, will become the most distinct and iconic k-pop boy band of all time (look Starship, what i'm saying is hire me as one of your music and video concept artist, i'll make the group look good, promise!) #5 iKON - 덤앤더머(DUMB&DUMBER) - the music video is just so random and yet i love it, they just hammed up the goofiness for the group but with more of their flavor of randomness into it, the amazing thing about the whole thing is that the group ain't so afraid of breaking their image up for the video's randomness considering how much they all look good in their own unique way (by the way, the video just made me want to desire a reality show from them, the ikon tv that i've been wanting from them for so long, can we get ikon, seventeen and monsta x as part of the new mtv diary please, is it too late for me to ask? ) this is one of those melodys that i could possibly mistake as one of the songs that PSY made back when he was creating Daddy during his supposed comeback in 2014, it's so club like that i'm surprised that it hasn't really caught on with the dance charts, one more thing though, did b.i. just reference BtoB in one of his verses, if he did then that's one of those pluses for me, if not then, a man can dream right?Image may be NSFW.
