Article talks about how rumors have been circulating that SM will be debuting a male idol group next year with a potential maximum of 24 members, which is in trend with the recent debuts of big groups like Seventeen (13 members), WJSN (12 members), and Twice (9 members).

SM Responds to Rumors of Debuting a 24-Member Boy Group Next Year

SM Entertainment has confirmed that they will be debuting a newmultinational group next year, most likely a boy group. Other details haven’t been released, but there’s a rumor floating around the K-pop industry that SM Entertainment will be debuting a group with a whopping 24 members.

Exactly how the agency will round up 24 members is not part of the rumors, but with SM managing SMRookies, which already has 10 males, the speculation is that it won’t be hard to get to 24. Many are extrapolating from the fact that SM’sSuper Junior once had 13 members and K-pop groups, like Seventeen (13 members) and Cosmic Girls (12 members) are showing a trend for very large groups. SM would just be one-upping everyone.

However, when asked about the 24 member group debuting, a SM rep stated, “It is not true.” The rep continued, “I think we’ve tried all that we can with forming large groups already. In other words, there is no interest anymore in the number of members. While it is true that the SMRookies are very active these days [with their show] and that there will be a group debuting next year, how many members and who, and what genre have not been decided yet.” The rep concluded, “Unconfirmed rumors about the [upcoming] team members can be hurtful to the members of SMRookies who are working hard in order to debut.”

A few months ago, knetz were shocked as it was revealed anti's were wishing death upon Red Velvet and there were numerous articles about it.

The photo shows a pink gift tag that appeared to be an ornament for a wishing tree. Reading “Wishing tree, dreams come true” at the top, the user-added text at the bottom was what put many netizens to shock. It read, “Let's Kill Red Velvet

In Korean folklore, the wishing tree has protected the South Korean city of Suwon for over 600 years. Kids and adults alike go to the wishing tree to write their wishes written on ribbons or paper, hoping the magical powers will grant their wishes.

However, Red Velvet are hitting back at those evil people! as it was revealed their Christmas single would be called

"Wish Tree" , which will be a pop ballad

Whats the need of having Rappers in a cute concept Group or in every Group in general ??

not saying the Rappers in cute concept Groups are bad (thats another topic) .. but sometimes (or often) the Rap breaks just don't fit the song at all or are very cringe worthy (like in many songs in general tbh)

i don't get why some companies force themself to have Rappers in their Groups if they are not that outstanding i don't see the need of having a Rapper in a Group if the Group doesn't go the hiphop route (because then i expect outstanding Rappers)

most of the time these people are not even passionate Rappers but Rappers because their company didn't know any other position to give them in the Group like ''Oh the position for Visual, Leader,Dancer, Lead Dancer, Lead Vocal, Main Vocal ,Vocal, Sub Vocal are gone be the Lead Rapper and let's have a Main Rapper as well ! ''

if the person was just randomly picked as a Rapper because his singing was a total No Go and his Dancing was ok why even picking him as a member of a Group if he is not even the visual and therefore nearly get's no screentime ?.., but it get's even more weird if the Rapper is actually a very good Singer then Rapper
if there is really a need of having a Rap Break why not let the other members just do it for once like Snsd did in IGAB (since they don't even have a Rapper),

like why forcing a Group to have a Rap Break in general if it doesn't do the Song a favour at all ?? I rather see a outstanding Dance Break then a Rap Break that doesn't even make sense lyrically when it comes the content of the whole Song..

Rap Monster, the only K-Idol featured on SPIN's 50 Best Hip Hop albums of 2015

SPIN Magazine has released their end-of-year list of the 50 best hip hop albums of 2015, many of which were to be expected (Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly named album of the year). It was shocking to see Rap Monster make it onto the list, managing to break the K-Idol Rapper stigma and earning respect not only amongst underground Korean rappers, but now gaining the attention of international hip hop fans as well. The article segment on him does involve critical comments on K-pop's bad reputation with appropriating black culture, which is understandable.

[MY VOCAL ANALYSIS] — Yesung (SUPER JUNIOR), the darkest tenor

Yesung debuted as Super Junior’s lead vocalist in 2005, and eventually became one of the three main vocalists due to his natural abilities to portray a song emotionally and technically efficient. In 2006, Yesung, along with Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and Ryeowook, became part of the new sub-unit “Super Junior K.R.Y.”, that is intended to showcase the vocalists’ capabilities of singing.

VOCAL RANGE: G2 — G#5 (3 Octaves and a semitone)

The singer posseses a very husky timbre that differentiates his voice from the other tenors from the group, and remembers that of a baritone voice.

Vocal positives: Yesung is able to show a very good stability and a decent placement all over his supported range. Chest notes are well projected until C#3 and, at times, C3. He shows a proper resonance often until G#4. Intonation is achieved and has no issues most of the time. The singer has recently shown improvement in his mixed voice, fixing placement issues.

Vocal negatives: Despite being a smart vocalist, Yesung has missplacement problems in his chest and mixed registers. Notes above A4 are often yelled and pushed, with a throaty placement. Notes below C3 are missplaced and not audible. His head voice and falsetto are disconected and, at times, missplaced.

REGISTERS
  • LOWER REGISTER
    Yesung owns a well developed lower register, as he has the abilities to properly project notes as down as C3 (Do 3) (see It has to be You) with a decent support and a good intonation. However, below C3 he tends to use his throat to produce notes without support and, most of the time, are barely even audible.
  • MIXED REGISTER
    This register is also well developed, although it presents more issues than his lower register. Yesung can produce notes as high as G#4 with resonance and support, and in comparision to other similar tenor vocalists, like Jonghyun, he owns an admirable stability. His notes above G#4 are pushed and often yelled, with a throaty placement and an inconsistent support, as shown in the B4’s of The More I Love You. These issues has been recently fixed or shown improvement, as shown in Super Junior K.R.Y.’s asian Tour “Phonograph” (see Point of No Return as an example).
  • HIGHER REGISTER
    By far, the vocalist’s weakest register. Yesung has a disconnected, airy and inconsistent head voice. His falsetto is oftenly missplaced (using his throat) to produce a more consistent sound, losing any resonance. However, he can control his falsetto properly as high as Eb5, that, altough missplaced, does not lose tone and projects a relaxed sound.

Despite he is not as competent as his peers of Super Junior, Kyuhyun and Ryeowook, Yesung still has admirable skills that made him the place of a recognized singer among Super Junior fans and k-pop fans overall. Yesung owns what is probably one of the darkest type of voices for a tenor in k-pop, and he has shown some improvement since his debut days to the point that he is now considered one of the most relevant vocalists in South Korea by many.

Recommended performance(s): The More I Love You, Memories (with Super Junior), It Has to Be You.

Kunlun Games has announced today that the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) Dream of the Three Kingdoms will be available for iOS on December 17th! Wang Sicong, also known as the China’s Husband, has engaged T-ara as ambassadors to endorse the game, which also marks his debut in the mobile gaming industry.

T-ara cosplay as ancient Chinese characters for the first time and will form a team to join the “Dream League.”

they will participate in a 3 on 3 showdown will be shown in the form of an advertisement.

VOCAL RANKING

So this is a vocal ranking of all Super Junior current members including Yesung and excluding Kibum and Super Junior-M's Henry and Zhou Mi.
What I took in consideration to make the list were resonance, supported register, stability, among other things that complete a true vocalist.
